the bathroom was much to small,we are average size but found it very hard to shower, just dont know how any one could bath small children in such a small area.
The location, comfort and facilities were all excellent.
No complaints apart from the bathroom extractor not working and the mirrors all steaming up. Thats all!
The breakfasts! Fabulous imaginative food. TheEcco ethics are admirable and also the facilities for families & the care taken to prevent children being imposed on other guests. All children were well behaved and families dined separately The spectaular view. I loved it!i
Would have appreciated more generosity with toiletries. For price expected to be replenished daily. Also requested more milk for tea in room & it never arrived.
Fantastic location, great facilities. Chosen for a special treat and was pleased with choice. Lived up to reputation, just wished we'd had a room with a sea view!
Disapointed outdoor pool not open as weather mild for time of year. Felt a little rushed at dinner and request for window table ignored even though restaurant reservation made earlier in the day!
The staff were excellent
This hotel barely makes the grade of being a 4* but charges 4* rates for what I feel is adequate 3* service. The south west was one of the first TV areas to go digital so why did the TV in the room only have channels 1-5 plus Sky News? Surely a 4* hotel could run to a few flowers on the tables in the dining room? Also for the prices being charged I feel it is iniquitous to charge a supplement for orange juice at breakfast because of the 'food miles' and the hotel's environmental ethics - I was on holiday for heavens sake. Why wait until the soap in the bathroom was virtually non existent before replacing, you nearly had to ration handwashing,
Beautiful location. Friendly staff.
Quality of room was poor and fixtures needed updating. Not worth the money.
The hotels location is brilliant with the most magnificent views and access to a lovely beach. Quite strong currents but plenty of space for the kids to run around. The hotels children's tea is fantastic and the food prepared is fresh and with plenty of healthy options. The breakfast is a treat and lovely to have the kids welcomed so warmly in to the restaurant too. Great to offer adult only swim times and the outdoor pool proved a hit with our 2 tots. The hotel focuses on family and comfort as a priority and this makes you feel at ease and gives a family the chance to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. There is lots on offer with children's clubs which we didn't use but it was nice to have the option.
There was a delay with our order through room service but what we did receive was good quality and very enjoyable. Also experienced the fire alarm going off in the hotel late at night and I think it would have been reassuring to have had a call from reception after the incident to reassure guests that all was ok or an apology or explanation on check out.
The location is excellent with a great view. The room was clean and comfortable.
For the price I was paying of £196 per night I expected a lot more. The fine dining experience was poor with the meat overcooked and a poor wine list. The breakfast service was poor with a struggle to get coffee as there was one waitress trying to cope with many others. It did give you the feeling that you were in a luxury hotel and at that price it should have. I travel extensively for business and have stayed in many £100/night hotels with much better service. Paying for the view not the hotel.
The view from the back of the hotel was superb, and it was well situated for the beach. The staff were frinedly and helpful.
The rooms were very old fashioned, dingy looking with awful yellow net curtains which did not reflect the high price of the rooms.
The staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a family young or old.
Everything was fantastic and we really enjoyed our stay, I was surprised by the friendliness and great customer service by staff on reception, restaurant, spa.... Room was clean and decent size however rooms were quite simple and did not reflect the price or 4 star hotel level, on the other side the views were just lovely. Breakfast very tasty and healthy however constant shortage of eggs :-). Great hotel facilities, especially spa and indoor pool with sauna etc... Hotel is pet friendly so we could take our dog - they provided towels, bowls and blanket which was very thoughtful. We will be definitely back soon.
It may sound horrible but lots of small kids crying the whole nights!
We have just completed our third stay at Bedruthan Steps Hotel. We very much enjoyed our first two visits, but the hotel has improved since our last visit three years ago, and we have had a most pleasant three night stay. The restaurant has recently been refurbished and the food is both imaginative and very well prepared. Our room had a fine view of Morgan Porth Bay, was spacious, comfortable and very clean. The bed was comfortable, with a firm but not hard mattress. The staff were cheerful, friendly and attentive. The hotel is ideally placed for coastal walking and is close to a number of well known restaurants in Padstow and Watergate Bay. We will be back.
It's position relative to other attractions in the area. Food. Indoor pool Tennis court
Gymnasium very depressing and poorly equiped I would only recommend the hotel as a family venue Poor value for money otherwise
Convenience - we were attending a wedding at the hotel.
The hotel is clean and eco friendly. The staff are attentive and efficient. Good healthy food.
